Maggie Gyllenhaal and Christian Bale at “The Dark Knight” Premiere

Maggie, Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Gary Oldman gathered for the New York premiere of “The Dark Knight” on July 14. Maggie’s silky flower print dress was a perfect match for the occasion, whether she was inside the theater or outside on the street. Christian and wife Sibi (who knew that he was married) were svelte in black.

The cast also paid tribute to Heath Ledger, calling the film a “celebration of his talent.” Michael Caine told reporters that he thought Ledger would get an Oscar nomination for his portrayal of the Joker, which would indeed be a fitting honor for Ledger’s acting.
