Naomi Campbell Plants a Tree in Nigeria
Supermodel Naomi Campbell arrived in Nigeria on July 11 and participated in the launch of a campaign to plant one million trees (she didn’t cause any trouble for a change). After enjoying a good laugh and giving a speech with British fashion designer Oswald Boateng (just look at the beautiful background behind them), she planted a cocoa tree (wearing all white, no less) at the beautiful Abuja Central Park and Botanical Gardens.
Naomi was not the only celebrity who visited Nigeria. Music stars Usher, Jay-Z, Youssou N’Dour and Rehana also arrived in Abuja for the THISDAY Music Festival. The festival’s theme this year is “Africa Rising: To Celebrate the Best and Brightest of Emerging New Africa”, and its mission is to help project a positive image of Africa.
